Silver-Ish Lining

True story: I love nail polish.
Also a true story: I have a lot of it. But not nearly enough. It would be getting to a ridiculous point if I wasn't totally okay with it.
Tonight, I decided that I was going to do something fairly interesting with my nails, rather than just leave them one colour. My plan changed about three different times. I'm happy with the end result.
What you'll need: a base coat (or a base/top coat, or whatever you have), sky blue polish (or any colour, but just go with me on this), paper reinforcers (which will be nixed halfway through because of reasons), white polish (also nixed), silvery-blue polish, clear polish (or something to use as a top coat), polish remover, and something to remove the polish with.
Basically, it's just a bunch of normal nail-painting things, with the addition of an extra colour. I like making things seem more complicated than they are.

Lust List: Au Naturel

I've been craving summer lately. Summer means that I have more time to do things that aren't school related, and that I can go wherever I can afford to go. If everything goes according to plan, then I'll be going hiking, and paying visits to museums, and just having an awesome time. Most of my daydreams have been focused on hiking lately, so I think this list kind of reflects that. I don't mean that it would be a good call to wear anything on this list while hiking (okay, maybe the backpack), but that it's inspired by nature.
Whatever, I just like clothes and shoes and bags—oh, my!

Leopard Lady

Let's start this post off with an outfit.

Shirt: Sure Clothing | Necklace: vintage | Bangles: Forever 21 | Skirt: Forever 21 | Orange bracelet: Casey | Shoes: Payless | Sunglasses: Tilly's
Also: I clearly have a thing for Wet 'n' Wild makeup, since both my lipstick and my eyeliner are from them, not that you can see my eyeliner. It's purple. But you know, I do love their lipstick. I have, like, five different shades.
Anyway.
You'll notice that my room is still messy. I'll probably be that way till next Friday. I've been pretty busy lately, studying, doing homework, writing, taking buses and trains everywhere, and watching Doctor Who. This semester can't end soon enough.
So next month will see a couple of awesome things. First and foremost: Casey and I are going to Carpinteria for a few days, and my level of joy is beyond containing. Second: I'm joining in the 30x30 Remix. Go check out DIY Fatshion and Animated Cardigan for more information. It's pretty simple, though. You pick thirty items of clothing and remix them every day of the month. It's an awesome way to look at your clothes more creatively. I know I fall into that rut where I wear the same outfits every week. Well, with some variation. Anyway, I'm going to be posting daily, or as close as I can get to it. It'll be like Fa(t)shion February, except in June, and more closet-oriented.
Welp, that's it. I'm off to figure out my thirty items, and watch the rest of season four. Enjoy your Friday! Oh, and let me know in the comments if you're planning on participating in 30x30, too!

Flat Out Run

Let me tell you, today's outfit was not made for running. Skirts just laugh at you while you pound pavement, and you know that they are intentionally making you life suck.
Luckily, some lovely strangers held the bus for me.
Anyway, I just thought I should share my outfit today, which was weirdly...professional? I don't know, I wore a blazer.

Blouse: thrifted | Skirt: Fashion Bug | Blazer: Forever 21 | Necklace: Fashion Bug | Bangles: Forever 21 | Orange bracelet: Casey | Ring: vintage or something | Shoes: vintage, and six bucks, and obnoxiously comfortable | Sunglasses: Tilly's
I am disappointed in myself for not getting a better shot of these sunglasses, but rest assured, they are wonderful. Cat-eyes with a little rhinestone bow on one corner. I really ought to take a picture of my sunglasses collection one of these days, even though it's still pretty small. Whatever, I still love them.

Celebrate Your Mother.

Seriously, guys.
I'm also pretty sure you should be doing your field assignments instead of watching Benedict Cumberbatch be flawless Sherlock. Or maybe that's just me.
Anyway, here's what I wore on an exciting trip to the grocery store.

Dress: Ross | Sandals that you can barely see, unfortunately: Payless | Purse: Charlotte Russe | Sunglasses: Tilly's | Matryoshka necklace: Forever 21.
I just love this sweet little necklace! Everyone needs Russian nesting dolls in their lives, and on their necks.
Happy Mother's Day! Go bake your mom some cookies or lemon bars or something, and be her favourite child for the day.
Also, since it is Mother's Day: I love you , Mom! You've always been really good at hiding that cape, but we all know that you're a superhero. All of those good pieces of me come from you, I'm sure of it. So thank you for being half of my genetic code, and my favourite superhero. You really are the best.

We're Going to the Hukilau!

Not really. That's just a song that I was forced to dance to when I was a Girl Scout.
Since I probably won't be able to get a good outfit post till Thursday or so (and this is solely because I don't have a life), have a couple pictures of me and Casey being dweebs.

Let's ignore my face and the blurriness, okay? Let's just do that.
And, I guess this can count as an outfit post, so, uh... Yeah.
Flowers: Dollar Tree. Yeah. | Tee-shirt: Wal-Mart | Dress: Ross | Sandals: Payless | Sunglasses: Venice beach a while ago.
If I'm lucky, I might get to hang out with my friend Erika this afternoon, and if we're all lucky, I can show to you guys that I do, in fact, spend time with people who aren't related to me/Casey.
Oh, and random side note: I recently got an iProduct, and that means I have Instagram now. You can follow me if you like, just go pay a visit to starlithorizon.
And on another note: if you found me through my submission on Tumblr, then heeeeyyyy.
Okay, so I'm off to make a smoothie and put off doing my homework. Enjoy your Friday!

Cinco de Rainbow

So I decided to make a rainbow cake. It was originally for my niece's birthday party, but plans are foiled, and it's all good because we still have Cinco de Mayo to claim the cake.
Yeah.
It's not a glowing success, but it's good, and that is all that matters.
Here's what you need:
Sprite (Zero or otherwise)
2 boxes of white cake mix
Oil and eggs as called for on the box
Frosting (white works best, but you follow your heart)
Food colouring
SO MANY BOWLS
Icing (optional, depending on how fancy you are)

It's actually really, really easy. Just a little time consuming.

Wild Green Yonder

I've been hearing a lot about green smoothies, and I decided to give it a try. I need to get more vegetables in my life, too, so it's a bonus. So I stocked up some supplies and made a smoothie for lunch.
Yeah, that's right.
No, but seriously, guys, it's pretty filling, so it's basically lunch in a jar. Or cup. Or pitcher (I don't judge).

Let's get started, shall we?
